Help everyone swim like a dolphin

Finswimming should not depend on how much a family can spend. Your donation, sponsorship or time keeps our inclusive programmes free and puts fins on the feet of people who could never buy them.

Why it matters

The barriers we want to remove

Equipment is expensive

A competition monofin costs 250–600 euros. For many families, especially in low-income households and in countries where the sport is just starting, that alone closes the door.

Few adapted programmes

Children and adults with disabilities, for example on the autism spectrum, rarely find adapted water programmes, although water and fins bring them a lot: motor skills, self-confidence and water safety.

Clubs depend on grants

In 2025, 93% of Komet's income came from EU projects. When a project ends, free places and coaches' salaries are at risk. Private support makes these programmes last.

What your support funds

Two programmes, open to everyone

Zagreb

Free inclusive finswimming

Regular swimming and finswimming sessions, free for participants, for children, young people and adults with disabilities and from vulnerable groups, training together with their peers in the Komet and Novi Jelkovec clubs.

Today these places are funded by two ESF+ projects, Snaga peraja and Valovi uključenosti (2026–2028). Donations and sponsorships will keep them open after the projects end, and add more places, transport and adapted equipment.

In progress

Equipment library

A stock of monofins, bi-fins and centre snorkels that athletes can borrow for free, so that nobody has to stop because of the cost of equipment. Outgrown fins are passed on to the next swimmer, in Zagreb and in partner countries.

We are building it now: new and used fins in good condition are very welcome.

How to help

Four ways to support

Donate equipment

Monofins, bi-fins, centre snorkels and swimming equipment in good condition go straight into the equipment library. We can collect in Zagreb or arrange shipping.

Offer equipment

Volunteer

Coaches, parents, senior athletes and students: help in the pool, at competitions and bootcamps, or with translation, photos and fundraising.

Where the money goes

KPP Komet is a non-profit association: nobody takes a profit or a dividend. Income from our paid services (bootcamps, remote coaching, equipment and consulting) and from donations is reinvested in the sport.

  • 50% of the surplus: more places in the free inclusive programme, transport and adapted equipment
  • 30%: a reserve that keeps programmes running when grant payments are late
  • 20%: new loan equipment, coach education and open learning content

Each season we measure participation and attendance, test swimming skills at the start and end of the season, and ask parents about motor skills, self-confidence and social life. Sponsors and donors receive the results in a yearly impact report.
